The week before Christmas (exactly one week ago) we embarked on our trip to Louisiana to visit our Louisiana family. First stop was in Shreveport, where we stayed with Memaw. Claudia had fun getting a piano lesson & playing with all my childhood toys that Memaw saved. Thanks for saving all those, Memaw! Next we drove to Mer Rouge for some McLendon family time. We saw Julie, Russell's step-sister who is about to have her baby, Julien, in just a few short weeks. It was so good to visit with Grandaddy & Mama Kate, who surprised CC with her very first tea set. She absolutely loves the singing teapot. We also visited with Greatgrandpa & Greatgrandma McLendon & Aunt Jerelyn in Oak Ridge who were also excited to see little CC! Russell's brother Otis Lee was also in town and he took lots of pics of CC at Russell's Aunt Daina's house in Bastrop. CC got to play with her cousin Briley, who CC kept giving kisses. It was very sweet. After a fun trip to Mer Rouge, Oak Ridge, Bastrop & Shreveport, we returned to Houston, right in time for my birthday. What a trip!
